I LOVE this product!!
I have done a lot of research on different steam mops. I looked at prices and read hundreds of reviews and finally settled on the H2O Steam Mop.
When it came I tested it on every floor surface in my home including ceramic tile, wood floors, and vinyl flooring. What I found was that it works very well on most floors. Wood...eh...it was okay, but on my old-fashioned, textured vinyl it was AMAZING! I live in an old home and I haven't replaced the hallway vinyl flooring yet, which I hate because I have to get down on my hands and knees to scrub in the nooks and crannies (which really collect grime). This mop, when used properly and slowly, cleaned the floor so well it looks almost new! Ceramic tile, also great. It even cleaned the grout. My floors look better than they have in a looong time.
I have 2 big dogs, a daughter with lots of friends, and a small pool in the backyard. I own one of those "spray-and-mop" products and it is fine for quick cleaning (several...
WARNING!!!!
I want everyone to be aware that I have owned (2) H20 Steam Mops!!! Yes, I said 2!!! When I first received them and used them, everything was perfectly fine with them but about after a month or so of use, the steam mop did not work correctly. In each of the (2) H20 Steam Mops that I have bought and owned, I constantly had the same problem. The mop would no longer emit steam. In each instance, the steam no longer worked and it would just drip LOTS of water. Since I live in Las Vegas, the water here is very hard. Okay, so the hard water mineral deposits accumulated on the spray nozzle inside the chamber. Recommendation from the manufacturer is to use half vinegar and half water to clear it out. Well I tried that and it worked for about 30 minutes and that's it. So, figuring I received a dud and the fact that I really did like it initially, I purchased another one. This time, I used nothing BUT distilled water. Again, about a month or so goes a by, and the mop starts failing again. I DO...
Cleans Better Than Everything - Give It A Chance!
I've found with my trusty H20 Mop that people either love it or hate it, and I love it though it took a bit to grow on me. In fact it took me about a month or two of waffling over returning it or not before I decided that I actually loved it.
My cleaning lady and I did a test with a Swiffer wet jet vs. the H20 mop. We did a section of my hard wood floor w/the Swiffer to find the floor looked clean and the Swiffer pad had very little dirt on it. Then we went over the same section w/the H20 mop only to find the pad filthy.
Because I could see how much cleaner my floor was after using this, I wanted to give it a fair shake. I mean, no chemicals for my crawling baby to go through, no more expensive pads and better for the environment.
I had to get over the fact that when you mop with this, the floor does get fairly wet. Well, yeah, you're mopping with steam, ie water. The truth is, you've got to give yourself time to let it dry before you walk on it...
