Dusty stuff
I got the 20 Lb quantity. It came in a square box with a bag inside that was bread twist tied closed. I used my carbon filtered water from my sink and all my stainles kitchen stuff to rinse and dry in the oven at 300F. Pour the stuff out of the bag ouside and hold yer breath or wear a mask as a black cloud of carbon will invelope your face while you pour, other than that it tastes ok. Makes a hissing noise when wet.
Im going to use it to replace the carbon in my IQair filter when it needs it.
Makes a mess but washes off with soap no problem.

O.K. people, for those that don't know, this is what they use in building and hospitals. Ever wonder how they smell so clean but the windows either don't open or are usually closed? They use these in their air exchanger and ventilation systems.
I'm a smoker and these are the air purifiers best defense against odors, especially smoke...... Far cheaper then the fiberglass filters with carbon embedded and far more effective as well. I use 1-2 pounds in my air purifier and they absorb odors for around a year~!! That's 10 years for $70 bucks~!!! Far better and cheaper then buying the carbon impregnated prefilters that only last 3 months, if that.
I use fine mesh zippered bags that they use for swimming pool vacuum filters (bought on Ebay). I lay the purifier on its back and lay a cheap prefilter over the HEPA. I then put a reasonable amount of these pellets in a mesh bag (1-2 pounds) and lay it flat over the prefilter and spread the pellets out evenly. I then put...

The manufacturer of my air purifier is out of business, and finding bulk carbon to replace has been difficult. Reasonable shipping costs motivated me to buy this, basically generic, product, making it an economical choice for me, in Canada.
