Kershaw Ultra-Tek Blade Sharpener with 600-Grit Diamond Coated Oval Shaft

Kershaw Ultra tek 600 grit Diamond coated
Diamonds work A+ because they are the hardest material known yet. With this 600 grit diamond rod, you can re-sharpen any edge with like 2-3 swipes. If you do anymore than that, on a already sharp knife, you might ruin it. This is a medium grit rod (600grit). I can sharpen a dull knife very quick with it cause of the diamonds. If you have a knife with D2 or S30v or 154cm or sandvick 14c28n or even 440 steel, those steels are very hard to sharpen but if you already have a V shape and it's just dull, this grit (600) will sharpen it fast.

The grit however doesn't allow for razor sharpness because it is not a fine enough grit but it does make them sharp enought to cut paper like butter. This is a must have Grit (600 grit). Then after this, if you want a polish or prolly razor sharp blade, get a 1000grit diamond rod.

This grit is pretty fine tho, just to be clear, if you rub your fingers on it, it feels almost like nothing is there but it might give your that...

One of the best sharpeners I've used
This is definitely one of the better knife sharpeners that I've had, even better than my stone set. The diamond coating on this makes the sharpening process extremely quick if you get the angle right. There's no guide or manual or really anything that comes with this to tell you how to use it so make sure to consult the guide that (hopefully) came with your knife to determine the proper angle.

The only negative is the length of the sharpening surface. It's a bit short, which makes it only slightly difficult to sharpen longer blades. I found my 3 3/8th inch (Kershaw Ken Onion Tactical Blur Folding Knife with Speed Safe) blade even a little awkward to sharpen on this, but did get the hang of it. If the sharpening surface were a little longer, this would be THE perfect sharpener. Even still, it's definitely the best one I've used.

Great tool, love it, easy to use, have purchased it for my friends
The sharpener is very easy to use, there is no guide for the correct angle so you have to be somewhat savy about blades and cutting angles BUT it's much much better than the steel sharpener that comes with most knife sets. It does a far better job than our expensive steel rod sharpener I purchased prior to trying the Kershaw product. I use it for everything from my pocket knife, to razor knife blades, to our large carving knife. It's a diamond hone so be careful because the blade will be sharp when your done. I like it also because it unscrews and the sharpening diamond part slides into the handle and screws into place for easy, compact storage. The only thing I would change on it is: I wish it was a tad longer for the bigger blades. I hate to say it but it even does a better job than my whet-stone, which I never did get the hang of. If your looking for an easy to use knife sharpener that really works well I think you'll like this tool.
