Hoover WindTunnel 15" Agitator Brush Roller

The picture shows what my original roller looked like. The roller received is round wood without the flutes like the original plastic roller. And the part that the drive belt runs on has a big groove cut in it so the belt is only driving on the outer edges. I don't have much confidence in this lasting very long.

Update - Doesn't fit
Even though this isn't an exact replacement, (this is wood, original is plastic), I was going to give it a try anyway. But..., there's no groove for the belt that spins it. Actually, there are several grooves, just not one where it needs to be no matter how I orient it in the vacuum. I'm returning it.

Seems to function somewhat okay.
I've replaced the roller on my trusty old Hoover bagged Windtunnel, model U5445-900, a couple of times over the years. The bristles wear down, so replacing the roller, light bulb, belt, filters, and bag get the machine running like brand new! However, in the past I purchased replacement parts directly from Hoover, and the rollers I got were exact replacements.

This time I took my chances, and ordered from Amazon instead of Hoover. The seller was T & T Enterprises LLC., fulfilled by Amazon. Like other reviewers, I received a roller made of what I guess is wood. (Pictures uploaded.) It says "genuine" on the package, for whatever that is worth. Maybe it means genuine wood?

I don't care that it's made of wood, or whatever, or the fact it doesn't resemble the previous OEM replacements I've bought from Hoover in the past...at all. But the little nubs on the end of the rollers do not match the OEM roller, and don't fit like the OEM roller into my vacuum. (I forgot to...
