Hunter 26317 Downrod for Hunter ORIGINAL - threaded BOTH ends
This review is specifically for the Hunter 26317 24-Inch Downrod, White ... for the Hunter Original only.
We recently moved to a new house, but made sure to take our 15+ year old Hunter Original with us. With higher ceilings we needed a longer downrod, but surprise-surprise no one locally sells the Hunter original parts anymore (despite it being one of the best fans made). Luckily we were able to get this here on Amazon (...as well as the original oil for a refill to keep it running for a lifetime).
Note that the heavy Hunter Original uses a down rod threaded at BOTH ends - one end screws into the fan and the other into the hanging bracket. Most generic downrods rods - which other brands as well as other Hunter models fans use - are only threaded at one end. So be sure you order the right one for your particular fan. If you have an Original, this is the right place (check this model number range for other lengths) !
Does the job
The down rod does what a down rod is suppose to do. Not much left to say except the pipe is very sturdy and the paint is thick and glossy. The hole in top and threaded pipe part are very well made.
Works Well As Described -- Lowers Fan
A short, complete review: perfectly compatible with Hunter ceiling fan line, very good finish. Easy installation. I specifically sought out the Hunter brand to ensure compatibility with a Hunter fan, but a generic brand might have been fine.
